What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 21, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,234.63, which includes rent arrears up to April 30, 2020 and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $45.08 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting May 1, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 21, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
