What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference. The Landlords also applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the Landlords' reasonable out-of-pocket expenses for unpaid utility costs.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $20,143.48 by February 18, 2023 to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate the unit by February 18, 2023. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $14,482.87 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $49.32 per day starting December 9, 2022 until they vacate. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $1,275.65 for unpaid utilities.
