What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants had fallen behind on rent due to loss of income from COVID-19 impact, but proposed a payment plan to pay the arrears within 2 months.

The ruling

The Landlord's application for eviction is denied on the condition that the Tenants pay $10,000 by August 12, 2021 and $7,248 by September 12, 2021 to cover the rent arrears and application fee. The Tenants must also continue paying the monthly rent on time going forward. If the Tenants fail to make the required payments, the Landlord may apply for an eviction order.
