Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit. The Tenants had vacated the unit prior to the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective November 15, 2020, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $1,600.00 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage, and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by May 7, 2021, they will owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
