What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. Tenant had fallen behind on rent due to reduced work hours, but did not use CERB funds to pay rent. Landlord was willing to negotiate a repayment plan, but Tenant could not afford the terms.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 17, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $19,594.50 plus $63.12 per day starting January 7, 2021 until the unit is vacated. If the Tenant pays $23,215 by January 17, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
