What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of their own residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2021. The one-month compensation owed to the Tenant will be applied to the rent due for October 2021, the last month of the tenancy. If the Tenant does not vacate by October 31, 2021, the Tenant must pay the Landlords $83.84 per day for use of the unit until the Landlords are given vacant possession.
