What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet certain conditions specified in a previous order issued by the LTB.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 28, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $19,929.35 (less any amounts paid after December 21, 2022) for rent arrears up to March 17, 2023 and the application filing fee. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $37.55 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting March 18, 2023 until the Tenants move out. If the full amount is not paid by March 28, 2023, the Tenants will owe interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
