What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The parties attended a hearing and participated in Board facilitated mediation, where they agreed to resolve all matters raised in the application.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective November 30, 2023, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay $7,086 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount, they will start to owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance starting March 20, 2024.
