What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to them wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the rental unit by causing a hot oil fire.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $3,600.45 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage caused by the hot oil fire, as well as $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 22, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
