What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent, as well as for committing an illegal act and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated as of December 2, 2020. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $8,204.92, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by June 17, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
