What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit, specifically the front entry door and bathroom door. The Landlord also sought compensation for the cost of repairs.
The ruling
The Landlord is entitled to $1,000 in damages for the wilful damage caused to the rental unit, as well as $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount of $1,186 by October 30, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
