What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord served a valid Notice of Termination, but the Tenant did not void the notice by paying the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 3, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,572.93 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $17 per day in compensation starting April 23, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 3, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenant can void the order by paying $7,107 by April 30, 2021 or $7,649 by May 3, 2021.
