What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent arrears as per a previous mediated settlement. The Tenant failed to pay $50 in arrears by the agreed deadline.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 25, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,790 in arrears and compensation, plus $8.28 per day starting April 15, 2021 until the unit is vacated. If the full amount is not paid by April 25, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
