What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order issued on March 17, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 18, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $11,038.80 (less any payments made after the application was filed) for rent arrears up to February 7, 2023 and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $24.85 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting February 8, 2023 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 18, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance starting February 19, 2023.
