What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant seriously impairing the safety of others, willfully causing undue damage to the premises, and using the rental unit in a manner inconsistent with residential use.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 26, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction starting March 27, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,983.27, which includes compensation for use of the unit from August 11, 2022 to January 9, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $49.32 per day for use of the unit from January 10, 2023 until the Tenant vacates, as well as the $186 application filing fee.
