What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the terms of a previous mediated settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 25, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $9,823.63, which includes rent arrears up to August 14, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $50.96 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 15, 2020 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by August 25, 2020, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
