What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlord's intent to convert the rental unit to a non-residential use for an expanded emergency women's shelter. The Tenant is a member of a vulnerable population and will be provided alternative housing once the new unit is complete.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date, and if not, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement starting April 1, 2022. The Tenant will be provided alternative housing once the new unit is complete.
