What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was late with rent payments 13 out of 13 months between August 2020 and August 2021, and was also late after receiving the notice of termination.
The ruling
The Tribunal ordered the Tenant to pay the monthly rent on or before the first day of each month for the 12-month period from December 2021 to November 2022, and to pay the November 2021 rent in full by November 13, 2021. If the Tenant fails to make any of the required payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant. The Tenant is also ordered to pay the Landlord $186.00 for the application filing cost, and will owe interest on the outstanding balance if the November 2021 rent is not paid by November 13, 2021.
