What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlords' good faith requirement of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by their son for at least one year. The Tenant argued the application was in retaliation for his noise complaints about other tenants.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the unit by November 30, 2022. The Tenant owes the Landlord $3,989, which includes compensation for use of the unit from April 1, 2022 to the move-out date, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 30, 2022, they will owe interest starting December 1, 2022.
