What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent owed. Tenants vacated the rental unit on February 28, 2022, prior to the hearing date. Tenants failed to pay the total rent required for the period from December 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $2,086.00, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 31, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance from August 1, 2022.
