What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants argued that they attempted to pay rent but the Landlord did not accept it or was not available to collect the rent. The Landlord said they were available at all times to accept the rent.
The ruling
The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $166.99, which is the balance of the filing fee. If the Tenants fail to pay the amount outstanding by January 31, 2021, then starting February 1, 2021 the Tenants will start to owe interest at 2.00% per annum on the outstanding balance.
