What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective November 30, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before November 30, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,868.64 for use of the unit from August 1, 2021 to October 8, 2021, and $70.56 per day for use of the unit from October 9, 2021 to the move-out date. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 19, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
