What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on May 7, 2022, and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from December 31, 2021 to May 7, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,175.54, which includes rent arrears owing up to May 7, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 19, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 3.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
