What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent and the Landlord's need for personal use of the rental unit. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 1, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the unit by April 3, 2023. The Tenant owes the Landlord $12,232.03, which includes daily compensation for use of the unit from July 1, 2022 to the date the Tenant vacates, and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 3, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
