What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by their daughter.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 30, 2023. The Landlord is entitled to possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by their daughter for at least one year. The Tenant shall pay daily compensation of $19.73 from April 5, 2023 until the date they move out. The last month's rent deposit shall be applied to the last month's rent, and the Tenant shall be paid $8.88 in interest on the deposit. The Landlord shall provide the Tenant with one month's rent as compensation for the N12 notice.
