The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants because the landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by the landlord's father.

The ruling

The landlord's application is dismissed. The tenants shall return the $2,137.80 compensation to the landlords by May 30, 2023. If the tenants do not pay the full amount by May 30, 2023, they will owe interest at a rate of 6.0% annually on the outstanding amount.
