What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on February 20, 2024 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from May 1, 2023 to February 20, 2024.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $10,328.79, which includes rent arrears owing up to February 20, 2024 and the cost of the application minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 22, 2024, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 7.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
