What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to the Tenants wilfully or negligently causing damage to the rental unit. The Landlord claimed the Tenants were flushing tampons down the toilet, causing flooding and damage to the plumbing.

The ruling

The Landlord's application is granted. The tenancy is terminated as of November 11, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,955.85 for the damage caused and $186 for the filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay by March 10, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
