What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenants were required to pay $20,671.31 in rent arrears, NSF charges, and application fees by a specific due date, but they failed to do so.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 20, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $21,377.83 (less any payments made after May 17, 2023) for rent arrears, NSF charges, and the cost of the previous application. The tenants must also pay the landlord $76.28 per day in compensation for use of the unit from June 10, 2023 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by June 20, 2023, the tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
