What happened
Tenant Alex Urquhart appeals LTB eviction order and review order terminating tenancy due to non-payment of rent. Urquhart claims he was not a tenant and did not receive notice of LTB hearing. Landlord Amir Aslani maintains Urquhart was a tenant and had proper notice.
The ruling
The Divisional Court dismissed Alex Urquhart's appeal of the LTB eviction order. The court found that Urquhart had proper notice of the LTB hearing and that the LTB's determination that he was a tenant was reasonable. The eviction order and requirement to pay rent arrears were upheld.
