What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to pay the rent arrears by the due date specified in the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 19, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $2,428.13, which includes the outstanding rent arrears from the previous order and new arrears, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $54.56 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting May 9, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
