What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to significant rent arrears. The Tenant admitted to owing the arrears but stated they had lost their job and were seeking new employment. A previous Board order had already established a consent agreement to terminate the tenancy on August 31, 2025. The Landlord sought a formal order for possession and the payment of outstanding rent arrears minus the deposit and interest.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective September 15, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $7,466.00. If the Tenant does not void the order, they must move out by September 15, 2025, and pay the Landlord $3,938.57, representing arrears and filing fees adjusted for the security deposit and interest. Daily compensation of $47.87 applies from August 21, 2025.
