What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenant 1 attended the hearing and admitted to the arrears, explaining a loss of ODSP benefits and a change in income source. Tenant 1 proposed a repayment plan, which the Landlord opposed due to previous failed attempts at arrangements.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 15, 2025, unless the Tenants pay $6,878.00 by that date to void the order. If the order is not voided, the Tenants must vacate by May 15, 2025, and are ordered to pay $4,275.37 plus daily compensation of $32.09 from April 8, 2025, until they move out.
