What happened

Landlords applied for rent arrears and unpaid utility costs after Former Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Former Tenants left on February 29, 2024, after providing notice on January 25, 2024. The Board determined the notice was non-compliant with the required 60-day period, extending the Tenants' liability for rent and utilities to March 31, 2024. The ruling

The Former Tenants are ordered to pay $3,281.96 to the Landlords. This amount accounts for two months of rent compensation (due to improper notice), outstanding utility bills for electricity, gas, and water, and the application filing fee, minus the last month's rent deposit and accrued interest.
