What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant alleges she did not receive the notice of hearing for the original hearing on July 4, 2022 and was therefore not reasonably able to participate.
The ruling
The Tenant's request for review is granted. A de novo L1 hearing is conducted. The tenancy is terminated effective April 11, 2023 unless the Tenant pays $21,671.49 by that date to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate the unit and pay $9,097.02 to the Landlord.
