What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant failed to pay the lawful rent on or before April 1, 2023, and failed to pay $500 towards rent arrears by April 21, 2023, as required by the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 4, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $7,515.50, which includes the outstanding rent arrears from the previous order and new arrears, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The tenant must also pay the landlord $37.81 per day for use of the unit starting May 25, 2023 until the tenant vacates.
