What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord entered the rental unit illegally and substantially interfered with their reasonable enjoyment of the unit. The allegations included an entry with police without notice, failure to provide functioning in-unit laundry as allegedly promised, and an incident involving shared light switches and alleged harassment.

The ruling

The Tenants' application was dismissed in its entirety. The Board found that the Landlord did not enter illegally because implied consent was given. The Board also found that the Landlord was not obligated to provide in-unit laundry and that the lighting incident in the shared hallway was insufficient to prove substantial interference.
