What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants did not attend the hearing. The Landlord's agent presented a payment plan that the parties had previously agreed to and signed on April 13, 2025. The Board granted relief from eviction, conditional on the Tenants adhering to the payment schedule to clear the arrears and paying ongoing rent.
The ruling
The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $19,686.00 for rent arrears and costs, according to a 12-month payment schedule. They must also pay their ongoing monthly rent in full and on time. If the Tenants fail to make any payment as ordered, the Landlord can apply to the LTB for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict them without further notice.
