What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants because the tenants did not meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the LTB. The tenants failed to pay $2,000 towards the outstanding arrears by February 25, 2023 and failed to pay the lawful rent for March 2023 by March 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 9, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $24,207.45 (less any payments made after March 15, 2023) for rent arrears and the cost of the previous application. The tenants must also pay the landlord $72.30 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting April 29, 2023 until they move out.
