What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on March 10, 2023. The Tenant failed to pay $1,800 towards the outstanding arrears by March 25, 2023 and failed to pay the lawful monthly rent for April 2023 by April 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 27, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,998.54 (less any payments made after the application was filed on April 12, 2023) and $56.27 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting May 17, 2023 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 27, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
