What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N8 notice alleging the Tenants have persistently failed to pay rent on the due date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 16, 2024. The Tenants must vacate the unit by this date. If they do not, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenants owe the Landlord $38,275.92, which includes rent arrears, compensation for use of the unit, and the application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by April 16, 2024, the Tenants will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
