What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on April 13, 2023. The tenant failed to pay the lawful rent for April 2023 and $500 towards rent arrears by the due dates.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 3, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $7,298.09 plus $63.55 per day starting May 24, 2023 until the tenant vacates the unit. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 3, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
