What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 2, 2022 without paying the full rent for the period from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,911.87, which includes rent arrears up to December 6, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owed to the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 22, 2023, the Tenant will start owing interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
