What happened
Tenant filed a T6 application claiming that the Landlords have breached their maintenance obligations with respect to garbage left in the exterior common area of the residential complex, overflow drain cover in the bathtub, toilet leak, pests in the rental unit and drains in the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
The ruling
The Landlords are ordered to repair or replace the bathtub overflow drain cover and hire a professional, licensed pest control company to inspect and treat the unit until the rodent issue is eliminated. If the Landlords fail to comply, the Tenant may deduct 5% from the monthly rent.
