What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to appear at the hearing despite being properly served. The Landlord provided evidence of significant rent arrears and stated that the Tenant had not responded to attempts to establish a repayment plan.

The ruling

The LTB ordered the termination of the tenancy effective July 28, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $8,257.19. If the Tenant does not void the order and move out, the Landlord is authorized to file for eviction with the Sheriff. The Tenant is also ordered to pay $6,125.89 to the Landlord, representing arrears up to the hearing date and the filing fee, adjusted for the rent deposit and interest.
