What happened

The Landlord applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction due to significant rent arrears. The Tenant attended the hearing and did not dispute the amount owing. Although the parties initially reached a consent agreement to postpone eviction to July 31, 2025, to allow for payment, the order was issued on that date, rendering the postponement moot. The adjudicator found it unfair to grant further relief from eviction given the circumstances.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated. To void the eviction, the Tenant must pay $14,757.60 by July 31, 2025, or $16,435.90 by August 11, 2025. If the Tenant fails to pay and does not move out by August 11, 2025, the Landlord can enforce the eviction through the Sheriff. The Tenant is ordered to pay $11,068.32 plus daily compensation of $55.18 until they vacate.
