What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The Landlord has proven on a balance of probabilities the grounds for termination of the tenancy and the claim for compensation in the application. The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant will terminate, with the Tenant required to move out by August 31, 2024. The Landlord shall pay the Tenant one-month compensation, and the Tenant shall pay the Landlord compensation for use of the unit starting June 1, 2024, less the amount for last month's rent deposit and interest.
