What happened

The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy because the Tenant failed to meet conditions in a mediated settlement. An initial eviction order was issued without a hearing. The Tenant filed a motion to set aside that order but failed to attend the motion hearing, leading to the motion being dismissed as abandoned. The Tenant then requested a review of that dismissal, claiming they were unable to attend the hearing because they had to work.

The ruling

The request to review the order issued on January 19, 2026, is denied. The original order, which dismissed the Tenant's motion to set aside the eviction due to abandonment, is confirmed and remains unchanged. The Tenant's excuse of having to work was not accepted as a valid reason for missing the hearing.
