What happened

Tenants filed a T1 application claiming the Landlord collected rent in excess of the amount allowed by the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, failed to pay them interest on their last month's rent deposit, and failed to pay compensation pursuant to the Act subsequent to being served an N12 notice by the Landlord.

The ruling

The Landlord failed to pay the Tenants interest on the last month's rent deposit, and is ordered to pay the Tenants $152.61 by April 8, 2025. However, the Landlord did not collect rent in excess of the amount allowed by the Act.
