What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served valid N4 and N8 notices, but the Tenants did not void the notices or attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $26,586 by April 30, 2024 or $28,986 by May 7, 2024 to void the order. If the Tenant does not void the order, they must pay $22,860.68 to the Landlord and vacate the unit by May 7, 2024. The Landlord is entitled to daily compensation of $78.90 for the Tenant's continued occupation after the hearing date.
